{March 19, 2008}   Books and Procrastination

My mother wrote about this in her blog, here:  http://winterwoman.wordpress.com/2008/03/15/procrastination-game/
It’s a game!

Here are the rules:
1) Find the first book you can reach.
2) Open it to page 123.
3) Read to the fifth sentence.
4) Post the next three sentences.

“‘You might have an eye to this.’  He opened a closed stall.  Inside stood a great stallion, as black as Jonathan’s hair.  ‘The ring would also cover his price, Highness.  I don’t take charity.’”

Anybody recognize the book?

winterwoman says:

hmmm… let’s see…. it’s got to be one of those books in the alana, lady knight series, doesn’t it? wasn’t there a jonathan in there? though i don’t remember him as having black hair… it’s been a while since i read one.

Emily says:

Yes, this was “Alanna, The First Adventure” by Tamora Pierce. She’s one of my favorite authors- I really love her books!
